About RemitEase
RemitEase exists because the remittance basis of tax in Ireland is needlessly complex — and the cost of getting it wrong is enormous.
Every year, non-domiciled residents overpay Irish tax simply because they don't know the optimal order to bring money into the country. Accountants understand the rules, but modelling every scenario by hand takes hours. Spreadsheets help, but they miss critical optimisations.
We built RemitEase to close that gap: a planning tool that calculates the most tax-efficient remittance strategy for your specific situation, across up to 5 years, in under 10 minutes.

Born from real client needs
RemitEase was created by the team at ExpatTaxes.ie — an Irish boutique tax advisory firm that works exclusively with expatriates and internationally mobile individuals.
After years of advising hundreds of non-domiciled residents on the remittance basis, our founder Stephanie Wickham saw the same problems repeating: mixed funds creating unnecessary tax bills, Green Money spent in the wrong year, and clients left confused by the system designed to help them.
The insight was simple: the remittance basis isn't just about what you bring into Ireland — it's about the order in which you bring it, and how that order changes over time. No spreadsheet captures that properly. So we built the tool we wished existed — one that turns a complex, multiyear tax problem into a clear, actionable plan.

For accountants and advisers: RemitEase can be used directly to model client scenarios and generate reports. If you'd like to discuss a partnership arrangement, get in touch at contact@remitease.ie.

How we think about tax planning
Clarity over complexity
The remittance basis involves six income categories, three tax rates, spouse allowances, and multi-year depletion. We believe that complexity in the rules doesn't have to mean complexity in the experience. RemitEase translates all of this into a clear Traffic Light System: Green, Amber, Red.
Complement, not replace
RemitEase is a planning tool, not a tax return. It produces structured, professional reports that make your accountant's job easier — and your conversation with them more productive.
Specificity over generality
We use actual EUR figures throughout. No "save money" platitudes. If RemitEase calculates that remitting Green Money before Amber saves you EUR 14,000 in a given year, that's what the report shows.
